Job Description:
Well-known educational organization located in Oakland is migrating from Sybase ASE 12.5 to MS SQL Server 2014 and from SUSE Linux 10 to RHEL. There are over 100 UNIX shell scripts that execute native Sybase SQL, Sybase stored procedures, native Sybase functions, PERL and Java. The shell scripts must be converted to run on RHEL and replace all references from Sybase to SQL Server. There are also Visual Basic 6 applications that execute Sybase stored procedures and these applications must also be converted to use SQL Server.

The candidate must possess advanced unix shell scripting skills, excellent database skills, and the ability to methodically test and troubleshoot issues in a highly complex environment. The candidate should also be knowledgeable in Java, VB6, and PERL.

Candidate is expected to be familiar with all aspects application migration coding, testing, debugging and deployment.
