Title: Java developer(091312VERFRE-IO-32-E)

Location: Horsham, PA

Duration: 6 months

(Candidate MUST have 5-6 years J2EE development experience with IBM Websphere, web server architrecture, Frameworks, Unix)

The Senior Software Developer will need to work with the Policy Administration application to help execute system roadmap planning/implementation and incident resolution/coordination. The immediate engagement of the individual will be on a project to move the entire application and all supporting software from one infrastructure model to another. The project itself involves platform migration, application server upgrade, authentication product migration, 3rd party tool migration, database upgrade, introducing standardized architecture. This will also involve introducing new/better processes and documentation. This role will focus on the application and middleware changes with an understanding of the architecture and general infrastructure.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Software development skills:
3-5 years of Java Development Experience, including creation of including creation of Java Server Pages (JSPs), Servlets, and Enterprise Java Beans (EJBs)
Knowledge of J2EE design patterns such as MVC, Command, Session Faade, DAO, etc.
Experience using SPRING frameworks, Rational Software Architect is required
Knowledge of ANT/Maven scripting is a plus

Application Server/Middleware:
Knowledge of WebSphere Application Server v7
Experience using SQL and using JDBC to connect to Oracle 10g or above
Experience connecting to DB2 v7 or above is a plus
Troubleshooting configurations, connection pooling for Oracle, DB2, MQ, etc. is a plus
General knowledge of web server architecture is required
Knowledge of WebSphere MQ 6.0 or above is a plus
QueueManager, Queues configurations, troubleshooting Message latency and failover
Knowledge of LDAP and authentication/authorization configuration strategies required
Troubleshooting and analyzing web traffic is a plus

Required Platform Experience:
2-3 years Experience with UNIX, with emphasis on OS command knowledge
Good UNIX scripting skills are a must
Knowledge in AIX is a plus
Knowledge of IBM pSeries hardware/virtualization concepts is a plus
Any platform/hardware migration experience is a plus

Non-Technical Skill Requirements:
Capable of independently troubleshooting and of coordinating with geographically distributed specialist groups
Very strong written and oral communication skills
Experience over the full software development lifecycle
Experience estimating the duration of design and development tasks
Understanding of project schedules and tasks using Microsoft Project is a plus
