Position Description:
· This work effort is to assist with the migration of application code to support the backend legacy system as well as the front-end Java code for the Intranet and Internet applications. Works with the implementation of the testing infrastructure and assists with the configuration management and software distribution solutions. The code is maintained in support of the two integration-testing environments. The changes, updates and upgrades are performed to modify or update one or more of the software platforms maintained by the Mainframe Migration Team (MMT) and the WebSphere Migration Team (WMT): DB2, Integrated Database Management System (IDMS), Customer Information Control System (CICS), WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and Windows .NET.
Required Skills:
· Significant experience with implementing and troubleshooting Mainframe database activity, specifically DB2 and Oracle.
· Significant experience with migration of programmatic and systems software support.
· Ability to support WAS z/OS conversion schedule and WAS Sun Solaris application installs in accordance with software release schedules.
· Ability to develop, analyze and maintain JCL for deploying and maintaining DB2 maintenance.
· Ability to monitor DB2, Oracle and IDMS database subsystems to identify/isolate problems.
· Ability to perform DB2 binds and implement CICS and IDMS changes on the z/OS mainframe operating system.
· Ability to analyze and maintain JCL to support deployments of JAVA-based code on the WebSphere z/OS platform.
· Ability to independently install and maintain WebSphere Application Server (WAS) code on the Sun Solaris platform.
· Ability to independently install and maintain WAS z/OS code via UNIX System Services.
· Ability to update and configure WebSphere MQ application code.
· Ability to migrate and deploy application code through the SSA SDLC lifecycle i.e., integration, training, acceptance testing and production environments. Ability to independently install, maintain and trouble shoot Windows .net deployments and installs.
·Ability to maintain the components SharePoint Site including maintaining most recent work procedures, production documents and to update work requests.
· Ability to document and update the migration and installation of the application code.

This work effort is to assist in SSA's development of the Windows Development and Production Environment (WDPE), which is a project that is mandated to establish standards for development and production support for application systems on a Windows platform. The resource will be evaluating SQL server tools, developing database support and design standards/guidelines, developing application development standards for SQL Server, and providing DBA support for SQL Server databases.
Required Skills:
Excellent written and verbal skills.
This is a hands on position however the candidate must have demonstrated leadership skills and experience leading DBA teams and working with diverse customer teams.
SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008 including:
