The individual hired for the SAP Service Design Engineer position will be the Subject Matter Expert for the SAP BI / BOBJ ETL processes implemented. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates that are motivated to grow their careers in SAP and technologies. As a senior member of the SAP Operations team, the individual will be responsible for supporting a broad spectrum of enterprise business processes that use SAP ERP Data.

Core Job Responsibilities:
Responsibility for Supporting Production Environment
Responsibility for Service Design Engineering of the SAP BI / BOBJ solutions. Reworking of existing applications and processes and/or designing of new applications and processes for optimized Operations.
Business Requirements Planning: Contributes to requirements reviews for solutions which results in alignment between multiple programs or services and the business strategy and ensures plan or strategy buy-in
Service Architecture: Applies appropriate standards, principles, guidelines, patterns and artifacts of architecture, which results in standard and quality systems
Service / System Design: Designs service specifications that meet business requirements by analyzing solution priorities and service or system processes
Design Review: Conducts design reviews and ensures that application designs adhere to architecture standards, overall roadmap, and meet customer requirements
Deliver excellent service and support to internal customers and partners. Position will be responsible for monitoring progress against service level agreements.
Position is responsible for ensuring each reported problems are resolved in a timely manner, tracked according to standards, and escalated problems are resolved as appropriate. Excellent Problem Analysis and troubleshooting skills are required.
Solving high complexity issues, and communicating problem resolution and additional information to management

This position requires strong communication skills, great organizational agility, and technical writing skills. Candidates must function well in a team environment. Candidates need to be organized with a proven ability to make the correct decisions under pressure. Critical thinking and problem solving skills are required. Candidates must be able to troubleshoot and the ability to analyze complex problems quickly is a MUST for this position.

A minimum of 5+ years of demonstrated work experience in SAP BI and BOBJ data services
Good understanding of extraction of data from SAP systems into BW and from BW to third party systems.
A BA/BS degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business or related field preferred.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multitask.
The candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Candidate must have an excellent understanding of Microsoft products, software lifecycle methodology and information systems development and support.
Must be able to participate in a team environment and operate individually.
Excellent problem resolution, analysis and customer service skills required.
Must have ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making.
ABAP knowledge would be an added advantage.

A solid knowledge of MOF and/or ITIL and the practical application of these methodologies a strong plus. A detailed understanding of the Service Design Engineering role and demonstrated practical application is essential.

Current environment is BI 7.0. BOBJ 4.0 is being implemented with a November go-live. We utilize these products for the extractor tools currently. Projects in future may include staging of data and the use of Infocubes. Role is 50% support focused and 50% supporting the new work (projects) coming into operations. Currently the service desk is outsourced so the support work will be at an escalated level.
