Web GUI Designer/Developer
Location: DC.

Duration : 8 months to extend.

This is for multiple projects cross web applications. The projects will require designing Web GUIs by leveraging the latest web technologies:

Tasks:
Perform Web GUI design and development in support of multiple projects which will include:
1. Work with web application architect, technical leader and business analysts on the design and development for web GUI
2. Defining web design standards
3. Define web UI across all client web applications
4. Translate business requirements into high quality mock-ups with graphic elements
5. Translate design charter and mock-ups into standards-based HTML and reusable CSS, for handover to Java development team
6. Develop solutions to cross-browser compatibility issues and 508 compliances
7. Document design and transfer maintenance work to internal staff

Skills Web GUI designer developer:

Required Skills::
5+ yrs web UI design experience
Expert in web UI technologies (HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, absolute/relative positioning layouts, adaptive to screen resolution)
Cross-browser technologies and HTML validation
Proficiency using Photoshop/Illustrator/Dreamweaver/Fireworks, Firebug
Excellent fundamental graphic design and web design skills including presentation, layout, composition, color, and readability
Demonstrated experience in designing, developing or managing user interface development standards for medium to large scale web applications

Optional Skills:
Development experience in AJAX, JavaScript Framework like DOJO, Prototype or JQuery
Knowledge of web standards, design patterns, browser compatibility and accessibility.
