The Data Analyst/Modeler will analyze business requirements, perform the necessary analysis to translate them to data requirements, develop enterprise data models at the conceptual, logical, and physical levels; identify and promote best practices and patterns for data modeling, and provide oversight for data modeling methodologies and processes.
Responsibilities include
Analyze and translate business requirements into data models - including definition of logical and physical models, model enhancements, metadata maintenance.
Interface with business analysts and application developers across multiple business domains including credit and market risk management Create and evolve models for counterparties, financial instruments, positions and exposures, to meet new and changing business requirements Perform complex data analysis and recognize patterns to help with Data Modeling or R&D projects with quick time-to-market requirements Manage flow of information between departments through the use of relational databases.
Focus on reducing process and data inefficiencies such as reducing data redundancy within an existing system or optimizing load and query performance.
Technical Requirements
Bachelors in Computer Science or related field
5+ years of demonstrable experience with relational database modeling and reporting using ERWin Data Modeler/ Model Mart.
Knowledge of reporting and ETL technologies/methods, including Data warehouses, operational data stores, data marts, star and snow-flake schemas
5+ years of demonstrable experience working with Databases such as
5+ Oracle, SQL Server databases in the minimum, excellent in writing SQL
5+ queries;
Excellent SQL skills to perform complex data analysis for data modeling, adhoc requirements, performance tuning etc
3+ years of demonstrable experience working on projects related to
3+ either financial or insurance industry (Risk Management is a plus)
Proficient in using SQL Queries, MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio Knowledge of Extensible Markup Language (XML) schema modeling is a plus
