Position: Software Development Engineer(NMS) (101816- SUAN- IO27.5- CA)

Location:  San Jose CA

Contract duration: 6 months

Job Description:

Responsibilities:
• Maintain current applications in use and perform troubleshooting as required
• Identify potential improvement to existing tools being used by the team and develop corresponding improvement
• Work cross-functionally with operations teams to drive requirements and product development releases in the regions and globally
• Provide technical recommendations on software technologies and products
• Take ownership of product & code quality and not hesitate to do hands-on development as needed
• Strong familiarity and experience with Perl, Java, Python, HTML5, Shell, Python scripting, Linux environments used in development and support of NMS tools.

Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years software development experience, preferably in ISP/data center environment
• Strong experience in Perl and shell scripting.
• Understanding of SNMP and other network / monitoring related protocols
• Strong understanding of networking & data center technologies with focus on monitoring and troubleshooting
• Familiarity of with various NMS tools (Monolith, Nagios, OpenNMS, Cricket, etc)
• Understanding of current web technologies
• Working knowledge on UNIX (Linux and Solaris)
• Familiarity with software development cycle/testing.

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science/IT/Information Systems or relevant qualification
