Job Description:

I have 7 open UNIX roles in Houston, ALL CONTRACT TO HIRE SO NEED TO BE GREEN CARD OR CITIZENS, need to have strong UNIX, Linux, Solaris and patching abilities.

Expectations:

1.      Should possess good OS knowledge across all versions of Unix, Solaris, Redhat Linux and or AIX

platforms

2.      Proven server maintenance experience including compliance break remediation and OS level

patching (service pack, functional and CSIRT)

3.      Experience of associated product upgrades including EMC power-path and VERITAS System

Admin

4.      Capable of planning and executing critical tasks independently

5.      Ability to adapt to a fast paced dynamic work environment

6.      Effective written and verbal communication skills

7.      Ability to develop strong client relationships

8.      Ability to perform work under pressure

9.      Self starter / Creative thinker

Key responsibilities:

1.      Will be part of the (PLM) Production Lifecycle Maintenance support team supporting the patching,

OS and Firmware upgrades across all Unix / Linux / AIX physical and virtual servers globally.

2.      Ability to troubleshooting operating system and server hardware issues at a Level 2 skill set.

3.      Ability to collaborate with Level 2 and Level 3 teams when issues arise that requires additional

support. (Priority one issues)

4.      Supporting all service delivery resiliency, efficiency and Audit programs tied to compliance around

server maintenance.

5.      Following JMPC engineering standards and products which are integrated across the Windows

physical and virtual platforms

6.      Implementing, measuring, and improving all processes, procedures, and activities required to ensure

maximum availability, utility, flexibility, and responsiveness of the production environment

7.      Will be part of vendor engagement model.

8.      Technical writing skills with the ability to create or modify run-books as needed.

Technical Skills:

1.      Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in Unix (Solaris, RHEL, AIX)

2.      Advanced knowledge across all supported platforms (Solaris, RHEL, AIX)

3.      Complete understanding of the various methods of OS patching, Firmware updates and the toolsets

that are used to execute the function.

4.      Understanding of security best practices for multi-tiered operating systems

5.      Understanding of backup process, system monitoring, performance tuning disaster recovery and

scripting for Solaris and/or Linux based OS.

6.      Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Tivoli and SunMC

7.      Ability to write shell scripts

8.      Knowledge of Open SSH

9.      Knowledge of Sun F15 and E25K platforms and SMS a plus

10.     Knowledge of OpsWare a plus

11.     Solaris 9/10 Problem Solving skills

12.     Experience working in any of  6800/10K/15K/25K  or Mseries System controllers

13.     Solaris Volume Manager experience
