Job Title: Oracle DBA (110313-JEFTHO-IOM-E-SAN)

Duration:  12 months

Responsibilities:
Providing Oracle database administration, DBMS tuning, database security and production support
Installing, upgrading and maintaining Oracle DBMS and databases
Planning and executing database backup, archiving and recovery
Providing database tuning for performance and stability
Managing physical database design and implementation, database security implementation and monitoring
Using ConocoPhillips change management processes to prevent production disruptions and outages
Partnering with other ConocoPhillips IT organizations to ensure quality support and delivery to the end-user.
This position participates in an on-call rotation with other DBA's to provide 24X7 coverage

 

 

Basic Requirements:
Three years of direct DBA experience working with Oracle
Five years of direct IT experience providing server support, database support or application programming
Ability and willingness to perform tasks outside normal business hours and on weekends as well as carry an on call pager for at least one week every 6 to 8 weeks

Preferred Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other IT/IS related major
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Expert diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem solving for Oracle DBMS
Ability to work effectively across time zones and geography
Self-directed and self-motivated to solve problems quickly and creatively
Ability to work effectively in a team environment to encourage collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
Applications support experience
Infrastructure support and design experience
Proficiency with Oracle on AIX, Linux and/or Solaris platforms

Experience with Oracle in the following areas:
Data Guard
RMAN Backups
OEM Cloud Control
