The BI Cognos Sr. Designer/developer plays a critical role in the success of an
important Corporate Strategic Initiative the Global Risk Aggregation project and the corporate Business Intelligence strategy This role requires SME leadership in an environment of new tools and processes for our department. The focus for the BI Cognos Designer is on driving "Data To Knowledge" and enhancing the ability of business clients to access and effectively utilize data.
The Sr. Cognos designer/developer will be an exceptionally talented, innovative and creative developer who is experienced in all aspects of Cognos design, development, and delivery. He/she must have experience as stated below. The candidate should have strong background in Complex Report writing, Data Warehouse, and reporting.
The Cognos Designer/developer is responsible for Cognos applications designs that address business requirements, and ensuring the application is developed according to those designs. The Cognos Designer/developer must be able to design, analyze, develop, code, test, debug Cognos designs and develop reports and to communicate and guide BI developers to ensure delivery of Cognos applications within specifications.
At least:
1. 7 years of experience with Cognos Business Intelligence
2. 3 or more years experience with Cognos v8 (or later) suite
3. 6 or more years experience creating dashboards, metrics manager
4. 6 or more years experience with data modeling with Cognos Framework Manager
5. 6 or more years experience with an SQL language, such as Oracle
6. 6 or more years experience creating power cubes
7. 6 or more years experience with the installation and debug of Cognos products
8. 10 or more years experience with customer training and presentation
Minimum of 6+ years experience in Cognos EP, specifically with Model Building Understanding of the Contributor Admin Console, especially e Lists, access tables, security, Table only Publish and Admin Extension functionality Knowledge and experience in implementing user level and data level securities within Cognos Planning Contributor applications Routine maintainence of models and applications on COGNOS EP Experience authoring Cognos Planning technical requirements and design documents for business applications Working knowledge and experience in Windows 2003 server administration Good understanding of various database platforms, including Oracle, and MS SQL Strong understanding of Cognos EP system architecture and technology infrastructure is a plus Extensive experience with MS Excel, spreadsheet presentation, and financial modeling Excellent communications, presentation skills with ability to interact at all levels of the organization on a regular basis Takes direction well but must work independently, Team player, strong attention to detail,
