PHP and Drupal  Developer

Location:  Elkridge MD or Portland OREGON.

Duration: Starts as a 6 month contract with indefinite extensions.

Rate : Most competitive you can get.

H1 and C2C is ok for this.

Job responsibilities include:
Provides technical and functional support for various Drupal e-learning portals.
Develops customizations and enhancements to existing Drupal applications.
Designs and develops Drupal modules and extensions to enhance existing system functionality.
Designs and develops innovative new Drupal based systems that are scalable and extensible.
Assists in defining product vision, with a focus on long term strategy vs. instant gratification.
Defines and sets development standards and best practices.
Develops complex SQL to facilitate system updates, data imports/exports, ad-hoc reporting, etc.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Information Technology OR equivalent experience.
Minimum of 4 years experience:
o Programming in PHP.
o Programming and writing SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and triggers using MySQL or a similar enterprise RDBMS.
o Using and extending basic and advanced Drupal features and hooks, and knowing how to use them to your own benefit.
o Developing custom Drupal modules and extensions.
Key skills that would be very much desired, but not mandatory:
o Experience with vbScript, JavaScript, ASP, Java, Perl, .Net, or JSP.
o Experience with Moodle.
o Experience administering and configuring Apache.
o Experience administering and tuning MySQL.
o Experience publishing and troubleshooting courseware using e-learning standards such as SCORM and AICC.
