PL/SQL Developer

PL/SQL Developer
Location:Austin/TX
Duration:  long term contract

Our client is a publisher of business information. The Company's Web-delivered service, provides access to its proprietary database covering more than 18,000 public and private companies worldwide, 300 industries and 160,000 corporate executives.

Requirements:
5-8 years PL/SQL Development
Developed in an Oracle Replicated environment (Advanced Replication and/or Streams)
Familiar with Object Oriented programming
Familiar with Agile processes
Good people skills and ability to work as a SME within a team
Experience using subversion
Willingness to serve as a mentor and coach to less experienced Oracle team members.

Additional Notes:
Currently there are 3 DBAs working in production operations that support the Development group
They need a dedicated Oracle resource (PL/SQL Developer) in the development group to act as a liaison between development and the DBAs
Right now the Dev team is driving the architecture and the DBAs are constantly playing catch up and hurrying to get the environment ready for coming applications.
This role will be responsible to sitting in on Dev meetings and working with the team to identify what changes need to be made in advance so that the DBAs can have the environment ready in time for the applications coming down.
Day to day hands on PL/SQL development required.
Candidates must have excellent communication and the ability to ask the right technical questions.
Ability to think independently, think outside of the box, and be able to pitch ideas.
Must take initiative and be able to push back and articulate the limitations of the production environment.
