Job Description:
Financial domain knowledge and a background in C# or C++ is HIGHLY preferred!!
-7+ years of business analysis experience on complex financial IT projects.
-MUST have an understanding of General Ledger, Sub-Ledger, Chart of Accounts and accounting principles.
-Hands-on experience working in a data warehousing environment.
-Familiarity with Back Office processing.
-Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, performance tuning techniques for working with the large volume tables.
-Familiarity with various process modeling techniques (activity hierarchy diagrams, data flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, workflow
diagrams, system interface diagrams).
-The candidate will also potentially carry out development in a relational database/data warehouse environment; therefore, he or she
should have a background in designing tables and views in relational databases and be able to use PL/SQL proficiently.
-The candidate should have combined business analysis and OLAP/Relational Database technical background, a proven record of
accomplishment, and a minimum 9 years of workplace experience.
-Must have prior experience in leading development teams.
-The candidate should have an understanding of the development and documentation of user requirements.
-Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling techniques.
-The candidate should have strong oral and written communication skills.
-Provide overall support to ensure the successful planning, design, testing and implementation of Business Intelligence applications.
-Team with and collaborate with IT professionals to determine if solutions currently exist (internally or externally) or whether new
solutions are feasible to meet business requirements and to ensure consistency among related workflows.
-Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
-Ability to lead and facilitate discussions in large groups.
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
-Familiarity with the technology/business environment is highly desirable.
-Accounting concepts and Financial reporting; familiarity with US-GAAP and IFRS is a plus.
-Portfolio management.
-Knowledge of data warehousing, data structures and ETL tools.
-Practical experience with Business Intelligence techniques, reporting and analysis.
-Experience with internal controls and IT controls and compliance is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Analyst will be responsible for the definition of new business processes, documentation of business requirements and guidance of
the project from assessment through completion.
-He/she will lead brainstorming sessions with the business stakeholders.
-The BA role is to understand the needs of the business users and translate these into specific project artifacts and deliverables that will
be used to execute the IT work program.
-Their role is to capture client business needs and to document what is needed to meet those needs from an IT perspective.
-Identify business and functional requirements, and actively participate in the requirements, design and build phases; delivering high
quality deliverables.
-Supervision and project management on all aspects of the project, including any components which are outsourced via a managed or
staff-augmentation service arrangement.
-Develop strong familiarity with the system development methodology and applications, processes and data.
-Ensure completion of all project activities including interaction with other institutional program managers to coordinate delivery
schedules, enterprise architecture, IV&V, information security and IT standards.
-Conduct/attend requirements definition meetings with end users and document system requirements.
-Manage the defined scope and present change request to the users for approvals.
-Communicate proactively with other team members and business sponsors.
-Work with business sponsors and project team for resolving issues and undertaking testing of the application.
-Develop schedule estimations for the deliverables.
-Develop working prototypes of conceptual solutions.
-Troubleshoot Production issues on the Operational Data Store and Database Issues.
