DATA ARCHITECT needed for NJ

The Data Architect will work closely with the Business Analyst and Technical Leads to build a data model to support business intelligence, data mining and OLAP analysis of a large domestic consumer insurer. Person will be responsible for the scalability and flexibility of the design in all phases of the implementation. 

Strong background in Teradata preferred. 
Deployment Responsibilities 
- Data Source Analysis 
- Data Quality Analysis (Availability, Completeness, Accuracy, Consistency) 
- Data Model Design, Validation 
- Database object creation and maintenance to support business requirements (summary and history) 
- Indexing Strategy 
- Quality assurance 
Ongoing Responsibilities 
- Support user reporting requirements 
- Coordinate with business analyst for new functionality 
- Maintain data model documentation 
Minimum Required Skills 
- Strong Data Warehousing background 
- In-depth knowledge of logical and physical data design, relational database technology, stored procedures and database administration 
- Must possess experience with Oracle, PL/SQL and be able to demonstrate expertise in the areas of schema design including implementation, performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, applications design, and database administration. 
- Must possess ability to analyze various business processes and apply technical expertise in designing appropriate database solutions 
- Experience with ETL tools, DataStage is preferable. 
- Experience with a CASE tool such as Erwin or Embarcadero 
- Proficient in English 
- Strong documentation skills 
- Ability to work in a team 
- Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle 
Desired Skills 
- Insurance, direct marketing and/or CRM background 
Reporting Structure 
- Will report to projects Technical Lead
